Sony PlayStation 2

The PlayStation 2 is a video game console manufactured by Sony Computer Entertainment. It can play PlayStation games, PlayStation 2 games, CDs, and some DVDs. It was the first successor system for the PlayStation systems. The PS2 has one of the longest continuation dates for a console (March 4, 2000 - January 4, 2013).

The PS2 had many quirky add-ons throughout its lifetime, the eye toy being one of them.  This was the first real motion-based gaming experience, allowing users to play games without a controller.  The PS2 most impressively had an optional kit to convert it into a Linux computer.
